Entries pouring in for Mountain-bike Challenge
2009-01-22
MOUNTAIN-BIKE fanatics still wishing to enter the Cape Argus Pick ’n Pay Mountain Bike Challenge, which will take place at Boschendal Wine Estate on 1 March, should do so sooner rather than later as entries have been pouring in. According to Meurant Botha, co-organiser of the Mountain Bike Challenge, the event has enjoyed tremendous growth in recent years. “The unprecedented demand for entries could therefore result in the entry limit of 4 000 rides being reached before entries officially close on 6 February.” Preceding the iconic Cape Argus Pick ’n Pay Cycle Tour, the Mountain Bike Challenge offers a varied playing field for both seasoned bikers and brave newcomers. Riders can choose one of four routes: the flat and shady 13km fun ride (geared towards families, children and beginners); the adventurous and popular 26km route; the tough and strenuous 35km challenge; or the 55km marathon for experienced and technically skilled riders. Visit www.mtbchallenge.co.za for more information and to enter online.
