Mountain hack

THE fourth Paarl Mountain Community Hack is scheduled to take place on Saturday from 09:00 to 12:00.
Meet at the main gate of the Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve (follow the sign, “The Rocks, Nantes Dam and Bethel Dam” north of the main picnic site on Jan Phillips Mountain Drive and park in the parking area in front of the boom gates).
Young alien plants will be pulled out by hand. Please bring gloves, boots, a pick, garden fork, tree poppers and refreshments.
If you would like to become a Friend of Paarl Mountain, attend the inaugural meeting on Saturday 13 August from 11:30 to 13:30, directly after the morning hack from 09:00 to 11:00.
The meeting will be held at the main Mill Water picnic site. Please note that you do not have to attend the hack to attend the meeting.
Please bring a picnic lunch to be enjoyed during the meeting.
Friends of Paarl Mountain will undertake projects that will improve and help maintain the Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve.
These include upgrading the Mill Water Botanical Garden, clearing hiking trails, monitoring plant populations and removing alien vegetation.
