DO you care for the natural environment? The Boland Environmental Forum will hold an open meeting on Wednesday to plan the way forward and invites all interested persons to the Drakenstein Hospice office in Breda Street, Paarl, at 19:00.

The Boland Environmental Forum (BEF) is an Individual Friends (of nature areas) Group under the Friends of Nature Areas.

These are groups of concerned persons who have banded together to work for the conservation of the natural environment of specific areas of their own choice.

The forum’s mission is to promote public participation in caring for our environment focusing on Paarl, Wellington and Franschhoek nature areas.

Chairperson Ati van der Leek says this is an enormous area with many mountains, rivers, nature reserves and farms.

“Our resources have been spread too thinly with overwhelming responsibilities for members. We plan to expand our membership and then form smaller groups to focus on specific areas.”
