* Sanger. Op Saterdag 31 Ja­nuarie tree die talentvolle Peter Mitchell by die Dorp-straat-teater in Stellenbosch op. * Shakespeare. As you like it, Shakespeare’s most Mozartian comedy, is still on at the Maynardville Open Air Theatre on 2, 3 and 4 February at 19:45.

* Razor-sharp wit. Where the Boys are, an exciting show that bristles with razor-sharp wit, comedy and above all, brilliant musicality, is currently on at On Broadway in Cape Town starring award-winning talents Alistair Izobell, Loukmaan Adams and Mono Dullisear.

* Symphony. The Summer Symphony Season of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra opened last week. Tonight the young local pianist John Ntsepe will perform and next week the award-winning Hungarian violinist Barnabás Kelemen and his equally talented wife Katalin Kokas (viola) will be on stage (on 5 February).

* Kabaret. * Musical. Beauty and the Beast, the highly anticipated smash hit Broadway stage musical that is based on the Oscar-winning movie, has opened in the Mother City at the Artscape Opera House. The large-scale South African production is a replica of the international production in virtually every respect, aside from the top-notch cast of local actors. * Baroque music. The University of Stellenbosch Conservatorium Concert Series opens this year’s season with a celebration of exciting baroque music on 31 January at 20:00 in the Endler Hall.

The US Camerata choir, led by Suzanne Martens, will perform in concert with SA maestro, Richard Cock, and a first class team of local and international soloists.
