Dogs go walkies

LAST Saturday morning the SPCA Walkathon for dogs took place, starting at the Vineyard shopping centre in Paarl South.
It was hosted by Paarl Vet Shop and sponsored by Hills Pet Nutrition that provided prizes and also for the lucky draw. Dogs of all sizes, shapes and breeds participated in three categories.
The winners of the puppy category was Sherné Vaughan with her nine-month-old Labrador, Jedd.
The adult dog category was won by a two-year-old Australian Cattle dog named Hebe and owned by Fiona Powrie.
The Senior Dog category was won by an eleven-year-old Labrador named Cindy and owned by Andrea Shaw.
In all, R1020 was raised in entry fees and additional donations that will ultimately benefit the Paarl SPCA.
