* Comedy. David Newton, two-time award nominated stand-up comic (Defending the Laid Man 2006 & Politically Incorrect 2007), is back at the On Broadway Theatre in his brand new show, simply entitled Laugh. * Musical. Beauty and the Beast, the highly anticipated smash hit Broadway stage musical that is based on the Oscar-winning movie, opened in the Mother City on 28 January at the Artscape Opera House. The large-scale South African production, like Phantom of the Opera and The Lion King, is a replica of the international production in virtually every respect, aside from the top-notch cast of local actors. Pieter Toerien and Hazel Feldman are producing it in South Africa in association with Disney Theatrical Productions. Tickets cost from R150 to R400 via Computicket, 083-915-8000 or 021-421-7695.

* Art. The well-known artist Judith Mason is exhibiting at the Sasol Art Museum in Stellenbosch. A walkabouts on Dante the Man will be presented on 28 February, when Prof Amanda Gouws will give a talk at 10:30, interpreting the feminist and political perspective in the artworks.

* Luna. The choir of workers from the Bellevue Wine Estate will be performing alongside Luna Paige at the Klein Libertas Theatre in Stellenbosch on Wednesday 18 February at 20:00. Tickets are R80 at 021-883-3607.

* Kookwater. Caledon Spa Hotel bied op 14 Februarie die eerste Kookwater­-fees aan wat beloof om ’n fees der feeste te wees. Van Suid-Afrika se top kunstenaars, soos Lianie May, Pieter Koen, Wicus van der Merwe, Munro en Andriette gaan seker maak dat die fees top vermaak bied.

Die dag skop vroegoggend af met ’n pret-draf en fietsren met groot pryse op die spel. Om 09:00 maak die fees-hekke oop en ’n vlooimark en ’n verskeidenheid kosstalletjies asook ’n wyntent sal verseker dat daar iets vir almal gaan wees. * Exhibition. Paintings by Nora Newton and sculptures by Marieke Prinsloo are exhibited at the Dorpstraat Galery in Stellenbosch until 16 March.

* Fools Garden. ’n Eksklusiewe “unplugged” optrede van die befaamde Duitse groep, Fools Garden, word op Saterdag 14 Februarie van 16:30 tot 20:00 en op Sondag 15 Februarie van 11:30 tot 15:00 op Mont Destin buite Stellenbosch aangebied. Die groep is bekend vir die “Lemon Tree”-liedjie. Kaartjies kos R550 (wyn en ete) en is by Computicket beskikbaar.

* Feast. The exhibition, Feast, an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Louis Jansen van Vuuren is on view at The Gallery at Grand Provence in Franschhoek seven days a week until the end of February.

* Ramfest. The Ramfest music festival will take place from 27 February to 1 March at Nekkies Holiday Resort in Worcester.

The gates open at 08:00 on Friday 27 February. Save yourself R50 by booking online at www.webtickets.co.za and only pay R250. At the gate you pay up to R300. The Saturday and Sunday pass is R200 and only available at the gate, with the Sunday pass R70 available at the gate only.

* Off the Wall. A graduate art exhibition is on view till 22 February at Off the Wall contemporary gallery at 171 Main Street, Paarl. Works by Victoria du Toit and Jenny Parsons are exhibited.

* Hout Street. An art exhibition of paintings, ceramics and sculpture by Stephanie Redelinghuys is on show till 28 February at the Hout Street Gallery.
