THE Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) has received an unqualified audit report from the auditor general for the sixth year in a row, reflecting an unreserved endorsement of the municipality’s financial management systems.
Says Gawie Marais (executive director: Financial Management Services): “We have competent, qualified and experienced officials in this specialised field with continuous training to keep up with legislative changes.
“We are in compliance with all relevant legislation to ensure sound and sustainable management of the financial affairs of the municipality.”
* Drakenstein Municipality recently achieved an unqualified report (for the 2007/2008 financial year) - the first time in a number of years.
