Time running out to buy

Time running out to buy

IT is not often, even in today’s cut-throat property market, that you can get an apartment at the same price that it was launched some two years ago – but Aslo Holdings is offering this opportunity at its Piano Factory development in Wellington.

ASLO are now handing over the keys at this 125 unit project to 90 fortunate purchasers and, says Johannes Barnard, executive sales manager for Aslo, the reaction of the occupants has been very favourable.

Of the units left for sale it is still possible to get prices as low as R485 000.

This would be for a 34 square metre bachelor unit, the smallest of the apartments on offer.

Other units now being taken over are 53 sq m single bedroom and 60 sq m double bedroom units (most of the apartments have balconies).

Almost 90% of those who have bought here, says Barnard, are investors, many of whom will now rent to the students of the nearby social work and teachers’ training college.

The project, says Barnard, has been praised for the way in which it has preserved (and renovated) the historic Bain Street façade of the factory and repeated the architectural motifs on the interior making it possible for the two and three storey blocks to cluster around a series of paved courtyards.

The complex is fully enclosed and the entrance gate is remote controlled.

Large sections of the internal spaces will be lawned and landscaped and a small stream runs past the eastern boundary of the development.
