Farms to be proclaimed
2009-02-19
THE South African Heritage Resources Agency (Sahra) aims to declare three historic farms in Dal Josaphat as a national heritage site. The farms are Roggeland, Non Pareille and Goede Rust, located between Groenheuwel (Paarl) and Newton (Wellington). The farms are considered significant because of their distinct Cape vernacular architecture and scenic setting. Sahra, the owner, aims to ensure that the farms remain unaltered and authentic in their rural simplicity, despite urban encroachment. Send comments to Beverley Crouts-Knipe at PO Box 2771, Cape Town, 8000 (bcrouts-knipe@wc.sahra.org.za) by 15 May.
