Music and food at the Franschhoek festival
2009-03-05
THE harvest is in and it’s time to party. The second annual Franschhoek Oesfees (harvest festival) will be held at the Solms-Delta wine estate on Saturday 4 April from 13:00 to 21:00 with a programme of vernacular music. Last year’s fest was a resounding success that brought farm workers, farm owners and music lovers together in end-of-season revelry. The event embraces South African history through the Cape’s rich musical and culinary heritage in an authentic celebration of the harvest. A lot of local artists will be perfoming at the festival. Come and relax on a picnic blanket or at tables under the shade of the oak trees and revel in the pleasure of a perfect day out in true Cape tradition. Tickets cost R150 per person through Computicket outlets at Shoprite/Checkers. For more information, contact Therese on 021-874-3937 or Cathy on info@solms-delta.co.za. Alternatively visit the Solms-Delta website www.solms-delta.co.za.
