Thieves make off with thousands

THIEVES got away with hundreds of thousands of rands in cash, after breaking into the Pick n Pay supermarket in Franschhoek. On Saturday night robbers gained access to the building through the roof, after by-passing the alarm by severing telecommunication and alarm wires. They then headed for the safe and forced it open after damaging the lock. The burglars escaped without a trace. Pick n Pay Franschhoek is offering a reward of R5000 to any information that leads to the successful prosecution of the criminals.
