NEDERBURG is maintaining its A+ performance with popular US magazine, the Wine Enthusiast. After the 2007 Winemaster’s Reserve Chardonnay earned 86 points and a Best Buy rating, the 2008 Foundation Lyric has also been highlighted as a Best Buy with the same score. Meanwhile, the magazine has given a score of 84 to the 2006 Winemaster’s Reserve Pinotage. US sales in 2008 nearly doubled those achieved in 2007. At the same time, Canada’s Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), the world’s biggest retailer of wines, has also given the thumbs up to three Nederburg wines, featured on its list of 500 Best Value Wines from around the world, compiled by well-known Canadian wine writer and judge, Roy Phillips. They are the 2006 vintage of both the Winemaker’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and the Winemaker’s Reserve Shiraz, and the 2007 Winemaster’s Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. Du Toit confirmed that in South Africa, Nederburg remains the country’s top-selling premium brand, for its affordable excellence.
