Time to take action against this pub

Time to take action against this pub

I CHALLENGE the authorities to send a letter to all owners within 1 km of the Paarl railway station, to explain the need for such an attraction as the International Hotel and its unwelcome bar/off-sales in Paarl South.

It only promotes bad elements and loiterers from mainly outside of the area, promoting more poverty and urban decay.

This liquor licence has apparently still not been transferred into the new owner’s name from the previous tenant.

But the Paarl police liquor officials who deal with this seem very supportive of transferring this licence and ignoring the amount of disturbance and crime which takes place here. For what reason I do not know.

This is now the time to put an end to Paarl South’s nightmare and clean up this area.

There are about 100 residential families in close proximity to the hotel, and we all suffer from the terrible noise and behaviour of the patrons of the hotel.

And in a letter of 2 April in the Paarl Post, the new “owner” admits that people are leaving the bar at 02:00 in the morning, but does not mention the fighting and filthy language which follows this procession to the very early hours of the morning.

This confirms that the previous letters have been correct in saying that the International Hotel is an absolute disgrace.

There are many well managed and correctly located bars in Paarl were drinks can be enjoyed, but the International Hotel is just ridiculous.

I strongly appeal to all property owners in Paarl South to respond to these complaints.Property owner and resident of Paarl South
