Noble Hill 's winning olive oil

NOBLE Hill Wine Estate’s Virgin Territory brand olive oil was recently named the winner at a gala dinner held at the Palácio da Bolsa in Porto, Portugal.

It was quite a surprise when a tiny South African upstart claimed first place at the International Wine and Olive Oil Design Awards held in Portugal.

Virgin Territory is cold extracted, extra virgin olive oil that was harvested by hand at Noble Hill Wine Estate in Paarl, South Africa.

The oil is a blend of Frantoio, Kalamata, Manzanillo and Mission olives and has the distinctive spiciness of a premium, small-batch product.

“We wanted to make something special, since we only produce about 700 bottles of oil each year. For the packaging we decided to try something new and it has really paid off,” noted owner Austin Tillery.

As part of Noble Hill’s continuing commitment to sustainability, the packaging for Virgin Territory is designed to be completely re-usable: the bottle is fitted with a high-quality re-usable stopper and the label has been replaced with a fitted rubber band: perfect for keeping a good grip and re-usable for any number of household applications.

Finally, a dropless pouring disc is included for easy pouring and even easier refilling.

To promote the use of re-usable packaging, Noble Hill refills the bottles at an economical rate should anyone stop by the farm to top-up.
