CRIME figures plummeted in Paarl over the Easter weekend, with only two burglaries being reported in the area.

A spokesperson for Paarl police, Capt Louise du Plessis, thanked residents for letting the police know that they were away during this time.

“This helps us to regularly patrol vulnerable areas. We are committed to visible policing, and it is evident that success is being achieved with this. The public can also be thanked for being more vigilant. We often find that many burglaries and theft out of motor vehicles occur because of negligence.”
