ON Monday 18 May at 18:30 a picnic-dinner to honour Topsi Venter, doyenne and living legend of South African food, will be held at the Barnyard Theatre at the Willowbridge Shopping Centre in Tyger Valley.

For, after decades on her feet in restaurants, Venter needs a new knee and perhaps bejewelled knee-pads as well.

The fund-raiser will be a memorable evening of gourmet food, superb wines and exciting entertainment with Nataniël, Coenie de Villiers, Daniel Pascal and Pieter du Plessis, Voices (the Four-Tenor tribute to Il Divo), Elsabé Zietsman and Rocco de Villiers.

Ticket prices vary between R250 and R300 inclusive of all wine, food and the show. There are table configurations from 2 to 12 guests and private boxes for 6 to 20 guests.
