THE organisation StreetSmart South Africa, a fundraising organisation dedicated to the upliftment of street children in the Western Cape, recently hosted its second annual Franschhoek stakeholder’s event at Haute Cabrière.

StreetSmart has raised over R157 000 through the Franschhoek restaurants in 2008.

The Youth Empowerment Action (YEA) has been selected as StreetSmart’s Franschhoek beneficiary, and has already received R100 000.

Eleven restaurants have joined, with Le Bon Vivant, Fyndraai@Solms-Delta Estate and French Connection being the latest to hop on board.
