Wiese of GHS wins in Boland Half Marathon

THE 2009 Boland Half Marathon Championships took place in Wellington on Friday as part of the 2009 Safari Half-marathon and was a joint venture between Boland Athletics and Wellington Athletics Club.
In the junior women’s category, Quarta Wiese of Paarl (GHS) became the 2009 Boland Half-marathon Champion by breaking the 14-year-old Boland junior record with a time of 1:24.09.

Jana de Jongh, also of GHS, came second in the Boland Junior Half-marathon and third in the SAD Junior Halfmarathon (1hour 49min 59,17sec).
