Print fire claims 13th
2009-05-21
THE devastating fire which gutted the Paarl Print factory a month ago, has claimed its thirteenth victim. Sharon Adonis (44) was reportedly one of the first people to come into contact with the fire. She worked in the staff canteen, where it is presumed the fire started. Since the fire, Adonis has remained in a critical condition in the N1 City Hospital for a month, never regaining consciousness. On Friday morning her condition took a turn for the worse, and she passed away shortly after 11:00. Adonis is survived by her husband Stan-ley, sons Peter (24) and Shaun (18), and a daughter, Angelique (14). Her funeral takes place on Saturday at the Reformed Old Apostolic Church in Paulus Street, Paarl East. The viewing takes place from 09:00 and the service is at 10:00. Another victim, Dougie Roman, is still in a critical, but stable condition in the Louis Leipoldt Hospital.
