Gold for Rhebokskloof
2009-06-11
WINE-MAKER Rolanie Lotz and assistant wine-maker Karin Louw can be truly proud after Rhebokskloof Black Marble Hill Reserve Syrah 2006 won gold in the Syrah du Monde International Competition between the best Syrah’s in the world. This competition was held in Château d’Ampuis, one of the jewels of the Renaissance, overlooking the Rhône River and surrounded by grape vines in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie area of France. This is no small feat as all countries around the world and all French regions could participate. Judges were selected from around the world and 50% from outside of France. Being a Shiraz specialist, the Rhebokskloof Mountain Vineyards Syrah 2006 has always been the pride of the Rhebokskloof collection.
