* Affair. An eclectic series of activities, titled A Franschhoek Affair, will be presented in Franschhoek every weekend in June (Friday to Sunday). They include workshops on glass slumping, raku firing, art, fynbos & photography outings, guided nature walks, mountain-biking, bread-making and wine-tasting walking tours. Call 021-876-3027.
* Preacher. The dynamic speaker, Esmé Bowers, will be at the Rivers of Joy Full Gospel Church in New Orleans Avenue, Paarl, on Sunday 21 June (17:30), Monday 22 June (19:00) and Tuesday 23 June (19:00). She will address the issues parents and their teenagers face and how to deal with trauma. Young and old are welcome to attend.
* Dementia. Tomorrow at 10:00 the third AGM of Dementia SA will be held at St Saviour’s church hall in Bowwood Road, Claremont.
Bruce Walsh who tragically lost his legs in the Planet Hollywood bombing a number of years ago, will be the guest speaker at the event. His story and message of hope and courage is inspirational and not to be missed.
