ACCLAIMED flautist Liesl Stoltz and pianist Albie van Schalkwyk will perform a varied programme of sublime classical music at the second concert of the 2009 Nederburg Concert Series in Paarl on Sunday at 17:00.
The programme includes works by Jules Mouquet (La Flute de Pan); Gabriel Faure (Fantaisie); Buhoslav Martinu (Sonata for flute and piano); Georges Bizet/Borne (Carmen Fantaisie), amongst other popular works.
Stoltz is considered one of South Africa’s leading classical musicians and has collected numerous local and international awards for her performances, the most recent being first prize in the International Kuhlau Competition in Germany in 2007.
Her duo partner, Albie van Schalkwyk is considered one of the country’s foremost chamber musicians and vocal accompanists.
