GHS’s u.13 netball team shines

ONCE again Paarl Girls’ High School showed that their learners, in this case the u.13A netball team, are always a force to be reckoned with. The u.13 team, coached by Annelie Lucas, has been performing exceptionaly well this season, winning a silver medal at the Sun City tournament in March, winning at the Paarl Elite Course in April, as well as being crowned the winners of the Boland Challenge in the second week of June. This past Saturday the team took part in the Western Cape Challenge. After squaring off against teams from Boland, Western Province and SWD, the Paarl Girls’ High u.13 team won the competition, which makes them the best u.13A netball team in the Western Cape. This victory means that the team from GHS will be representing Western Cape at the National Challenge, which will be taking place from 30 July to 1 August in Boksburg, Gauteng. The team will be competing against the best teams of each province. Parents of these players are liable for all the expenses towards these tournaments. To date the expenses run into R15 000 per player.
