Annual wine, art and jewellery auction
2009-07-09
THE Paarl Rotary Club’s wine, art and jewellery auction will be held on 5 September. Members of Paarl Rotary Club’s wine auction committee are currently hard at work on arrangements for the club’s sixth annual wine, art and jewellery auction which is scheduled to take place at the functions centre of the L’Avenir Wine Estate on the R44, a few kilometres outside Stellenbosch. Past President Walter Finlayson, an acclaimed wine fundi and the club’s director of projects, is responsible for sourcing the wines for the auction. Walter promises that once again an exceptional array of wines will be on offer to guests attending the auction, presenting them with a golden opportunity to enhance the contents of their private cellars. While the men will be focussing their attention on the wine auction, the ladies will have the joy of browsing through and selecting whatever takes their fancy from a fine collection of paintings, jewellery and carpets, which will be available on silent auction. The funds generated by the auction will go towards the many charitable organisations supported by the Rotary Club of Paarl. Tickets for the auction sell at R250 per person. The price includes pre-dinner canapés, a sumptuous three-course dinner, wine on the tables and live music. This gala event has already established itself as one of the high-lights on the annual social calendar of the winelands. To avoid missing out on a night of superb fun, early booking is essential, as only limited seating is available. Book with Maya Friederich on 021-807-3007 or email friederm@kwv.co.za.
