PAARL is about to become the subject of a new glossy coffee table book, aimed at boosting tourism in the area. Publicist Di Burger is on the verge of completing her second coffee table book on the winelands, named Stellenbosch, Heart of the South African Winelands and thereafter, Paarl, Gateway to the South African Winelands. Thus far, her first book, Franschhoek, the Gem of the South African Winelands, has been an outright success. Di and Franschhoek photographer Jeremy Browne embarked on this project two years ago, when they saw that there was no publication of this type on the market. Not only are these books high quality print with beautiful images of these towns, but they are a mine of information. Restaurants, galleries, places of interest, as well as the rich history and culture of these towns and their people, are high-lighted in each book. And with the 2010 soccer World Cup in sight and the expected horde of tourists, it is the perfect time to release these publications. “Paarl is a great place to visit for any tourist, and needless to say, the wine farms are breath-taking.” Contact Di on di@2bpublications.co.za.
