THE Rotary Mountain-bike Fun Ride will take place on 25 July, along a long route (45km) and a short route (30km).
The long route requires more technical riding skills than for the average fun ride.
From the steep start at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate, the routes are through the vineyards and onto the jeep track before entering Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve.
Both routes run clearly marked road areas and will have the technical sections clearly indicated. Expect steep climbs with fast technical descents.
There will be a compulsory STOP and START at the famous Christmas Camp on Paarl Mountain.
The return will be via “Google Ridge” down to the finish at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate.
The short route is aimed at the less experienced mountain-bike enthusiasts, being equally beautiful, but less challenging in length.
Riders must not forget to bring some money as they will be able to enjoy a selection of Marc’s delicious hot food and beverages.
Details are available on www.paarlrotary.co.za. On-line bookings by 23 July cost less. Proceeds go to deserving community projects.
