BASKETBALL The Delta Trust Basketball League will be hosting a basketball officials workshop on 25 July and 1 August at the Paarl School of Skills from 9:00 to 13:00. The workshops are open to anyone in the public who has experience as a player, coach or referee or to those who have a good knowledge of the game. Both sessions need to be attended in order to be considered to referee league games in the Delta Trust league that begins in the middle of August. League games will be played with selected high schools and primary schools in the Boland region. Kyle Ray, a missionary from Church Sports International and qualified basketball referee from the San Francisco Basketball Officials Association, will be the instructor. Contact Kyle on 084-259-0920. CROSS COUNTRY Boland Cross Country and Boland Schools Cross Country will jointly organise the remaining two Cross Country Trials to assist athletes in their preparation for the 2009 Boland Cross Country Championships. The second Cross Country Trial, in the series of three, will take place at Stellenzicht High School in Stellenbosch on Saturday.
