I REFER to the reply of the Head of Media and Communication of Drakenstein Municipality in the 23 July edition of the newspaper.
The right of the Municipality to recover debts is not disputed.
The point made was that the Municipality is not entitled to enforce such rights extra-judicially, in taking the law into their own hands by grabbing money from people.
Any reasonable person should be able to understand that.
Incidentally, as pointed out in my first letter, the Municipality, and for that matter everybody else, has the same rights under the common law.Attorney
