2005-08-25
WITH its second programme of classical music concerts for 2005, La Motte winery in the Franschhoek Valley once again features a delightful variety, with performances by local as well as international artists.
The first concert, on Saturday, is a performance by André van Daalen (oboe) and Sandra Kettle (piano).
Van Daalen, presently engaged in advanced studies in Spain, is one of South Africa’s brilliant young musicians. He is the first oboist ever to win the prestigious ATKV Musique Competition.
The programme of the evening will consist of works by Saint-Saëns, Britten and Poulenc, as well as themes from the opera Rigoletto.
All the concerts are presented in La Motte’s historical cellar with its tranquil atmosphere and excellent acoustics. Concerts start at 19:00 and admission is R100 per person.
Bookings may be made at the tasting venue at La Motte or by phoning 876-3114 (Angela).
