Change a life with R5
2005-08-25
THE National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities and its provincial branches have just launched their Stamp campaign. In 1943 Dr Milly Krause approached the Postmaster General to approve the sale of Easter Stamps in aid of the physically disabled.
Dr Krause became the first chairman of the Easter Stamp Fundraising Committee of the National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities in South Africa.
The first Easter Stamp Campaign was launched in Bloemfontein in 1944.
The National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities and its provincial branches are community based organisations, rendering support services to thousands of disabled persons on a daily basis. This year, Hyundai and the Telkom Foundation are the sponsors of the stamp campaign.
For a R5, you can change the life of a disabled person - giving him/her opportunities that we often take for granted.
The bonus is that you could win a sexy Hyundai Atos 1.1!
Tickets are available from Drakenstein Centre for Persons with Disabilities (863-0446/7) or you could visit them every weekend at the Vineyard Shopping Centre, Paarl, where you could have a close up look at the bonus prize.
The competition closes on 2 September and the draw takes place on 21 September.
