KWV has been awarded a total of fourteen medals at the 2009 Michelangelo International Wine Awards, ranging from Silver to Double Gold.

KWV 15 Year Old Brandy was also awarded the prestigious Brandy Trophy for the best brandy.

KWV’s prestigious Cathedral Cellar range was awarded two gold medals, for the 2008 Chardonnay and 2008 Sauvignon Blanc, and two double gold medals for 2007 Chardonnay and 2006 Triptych, the renowned red blend. The Mentor Range 2006 Shiraz/Cabernet Franc was also awarded a gold medal said a delighted Richard Rowe, KWV’s Chief Winemaker.

KWV’s estate wine, Laborie, was awarded silver medals for their 2008 Chardonnay and 2006 Taillefert Shiraz. Cathedral Cellar Pinotage, which was recently placed in the Top Ten Pinotages at the ABSA Top Ten Pinotage Competition, was awarded a silver medal. Under the KWV Reserve label, the 2007 Red Blend, 2008 Sauvignon Blanc and 2008 Chardonnay were also awarded silver medals, as was the newly launched Roodeberg White blend for its first vintage, 2008.
