Festival of Lights goes green

2009-10-01

DO you have old batteries, phone chargers, cell phones and cartridges you want to get rid of?

Bring them along to one of the electronic waste dumpsites that will be available at the Drakenstein Festival of Lights, which this year emphasises recycling.

Apart from the usual entertainment by talented local and guest artist on the stage, the stalls and merry-go-rounds the festivals will be used as a platform to involve the community in recycling.

On the programme is a waste fancy dress competition.

Do you make articles out of waste? Do you have an environmental or recycling project? Contact Paarl Info (021-872-4842) or Wellington Info (021-873-4604) or Luzelle Möller at 021-807-4741 in order to put your name on their database.

) Paarl and Wellington Auditions for artists will be held on 16 October. Contact Paarl Info on 021-872-4842.
