FANS of baroque music will enjoy Baroque Blast, a collaborative effort by staff and students of the Stellenbosch University Music Department, to be presented at the Endler Hall on 11 October at 16:30.
The programme will open with a beautiful and interesting work, Canzon noni toni, for antiphonal brass by Gabrielli played by members of the Stellenbosch University Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
The much loved and often performed Vivaldi Gloria, will follow, featuring the Stellenbosch University Soloists Choir.
The second half of the concert will be dedicated to music of the great master, JS Bach, and will include his concerto for two pianos in C minor as well as the B minor suite for flute and strings which contains the popular Badinarie.
Performers include Corvin Matei (flute), Suzanne Martens and Louis van der Watt (violin), Simone Kirsh and Bennie van Eeden (piano), Mario Nell (organ) and the Stellenbosch University Camerata.
