Fitness triathlon at Virgin Active

A NUMBER of local athletes took part in the Virgin Active Indoor Triathlon that was held in Paarl as part of a national competition (120m swimming, 5 km cycling and 2km on treadmill). The top scorers in the Open Individual Men were Wihan du Toit (17:57), Shaun le Sueul (18:42), Conrad Holey (20:08), Johan van Wyk (20:19), Lewellyn Coetzee (20:31), Kobus Cornelissen (20:49), Francois Knoetze (21:03), Pieter Mouton (21:08), Jacques Swanepoel (21:13), Gerhardt Muller (21:13), Emile Thesnaar (21:38), Bradley Martin (21:52), De Wet Conradie (22:14), Myles Winnaar (22:22), Michael Taylor (22:50) and Renier Duraan (22:53). Two women competed in the Open Individual Women competition. Zelna Mouton finished in 22:04 and Elizna Basson in 23:29. In the 50+ competition Donald Mouton finished in 21:13 and in the Die Hard extreme competition Krijn Resoort finished in 40:01. In the Team/Relay competition the winners were the Three Musketeers (Neil Bester, Johann Loubser and Michael Kotze with a time of 16:39) followed by the Pumas in 18:31 (Ricardo Daniels, Brandon Meyer and Darren Jones), Team Blond in 18:49 (with Johan van Wyk, Emile Thesnaar and De Wet Conradie), Green Giants in 20:17 (Gys Green and Sue Green), O.G.K in 20:59 (with Kyle van der Berg, Jason McMahon and Eldean Saville), Blou Bulle 25:37 (Heinrich van der Walt and Ronel van der Walt), Fantastic 3 in 31:49 (Anthea Richards, Melanie Marais and Aubrey Jaftha).
