WELL-KNOWN clarinet performer Matthew Reid will be performing at the La Motte Estate in Franschhoek on Friday 30 October at 19:00.
Reid is also a member of the string ensemble, Camerata Tinta Barocca and is a well-known name in classic music circles, having been awarded the prize for the best classical music performance at the 2008 National Arts Festival in Oudtshoorn.
The Camerata Tinta Barocca is conducted by Quentin Crida and they will be performing Mozart’s Clarinet Concert according to the composer’s own transcription for a smaller group of musicians.
Rossini’s Sonata for Strings in G Major will also be performed and both pieces, with the rest of the programme, will be presented. Guests will have the opportunity to taste some of La Motte’s wines upon arrival, and a finger dinner will be served at the end of the concert. Entrance is R125 per person.
