Organic wine wins medal

THE Avondale wine Jonty’s Ducks 2007 won a silver medal at the annual Green Wine Competition that was held in San Francisco recently. Of the 1000 wines which entered from all over the world this year, only 113 silver and 12 gold medals were awarded. The judges were top industry leaders, bloggers and media. They also received an organic certification this month from the accredited European agency Control Union after almost a decade of green farming. The 100 hectares of land planted to vines on the farm have all been certified organic by the Control Union.
