A WINEMAKER from Paarl, Pierre Wahl, has been honoured with the international trophy for best Pinotage at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London. Rijk’s is located near Tulbagh.

The Rijk’s Private Cellar Pinotage Reserve 2006 was adjudged the best pinotage at this big competition.

This follows Wahl’s recent triumph at the Michelangelo Wine Awards where he won the Gran Prix trophy with the Rijk’s Private Cellar Shiraz 2004.

The International Wine and Spirit Competition was founded in 1969 and is the premier competition of its kind in the world.
