TEN of Franschhoek’s most spectacular gardens will be open to the public for viewing on 24 and 25 October.
There will also be a fresh goods market in the middle of town with a wine, bubbly, beer and tea garden and live music to enjoy. There will be plant sales and talks given by many gardening experts such as Keith Kirsten, Marie Favard from Ludwig’s Roses, and Bridgit Kitley talking about herbs, plus Sue Norman and Jann Kirkby talking on general landscaping trends. Franschhoek Open Gardens is a charitable event held to raise funds for the Lions Club of Franschhoek who in turn looks after the Franschhoek old age home Fleur de Lis. The SPCA is another worthy recipient of funds raised over the weekend. Festival admission of R100 allows full entrance over the two days. Tickets can be purchased at 021-876-2861.
