TWO officials from Drakenstein Municipality were attacked and a cellphone was stolen during working hours in Walnut Avenue in Paarl East by a member of the public.

On 2 October, Willie Smal and Christian Cupido were busy working on electrical cables, due to an electricity blackout in this area, when a cellphone was stolen from their vehicle. When they confronted a suspect, Cupido was stabbed in the chest with a screwdriver. The man was arrested and Cupido was treated for light injuries.
