Dunstone Shiraz shines
2009-10-29
THE Dunstone Shiraz 2008 recently achieved a 5 Star rating in the John Platter Wine Guide - the first ever Wellington wine to do so.
There were over 6000 wines tasted for the 2010 edition of the Platter Guide. Of those 6000 wines, a record 105 candidates made it to the final round of tasting with only 41 wines attaining the coveted 5 Star status. Dunstone Shiraz 2008 was one of only four Shiraz wines to be nominated, and is the youngest Shiraz award winner. The wine was traditionally made on the farm in the Bovlei, with passion, by the family team Lee and Abbi Wallis and Abbi’s father (Robert Frith) along with wine consultant Adi Badenhorst.
