AS part of the Franschhoek La Motte Classical Music Festival this weekend, soprano Bronwen Forbay will perform at the NG Church in Franschhoek on Friday 30 October at 19:30.
Bronwyn is a Standard Bank Young Artist for 2007 and will be presenting a programme of opera arias from La Boheme, La Traviata, Barber of Seville, selections of Spanish and French songs, and Afrikaans songs by S le Roux Marais.
Bronwen has won the Samro Award for most promising South African opera singer.
She has performed numerous opera roles including critically acclaimed performances of the Queen of the Night with the Wolf Trap opera company, Eugene Opera, and Tulsa Opera.

* Annneke Lamont (piano), Handri Loots (flute) and Elmarie van der Vywer (viola) will be performing at the NG Church in Franschhoek on Sunday at 09:30 as part of the morning service.
The performance will be a unique compilation of music for a Sunday morning and will include a wide range of music. The performance will be open to the public and is free of charge.
* End your festival experience on Sunday at 15:30 with an informal performance by festival musicians at Café Bon Bon. With guest performers, acclaimed operatic baritone Federico Freschi from Johannesburg - a regular festival favourite in Franschhoek - and popular guitarist James Grace, the programme sees the musicians in innovative and spontaneous collaboration.
They will join festival players Christopher Duigan and Anneke Lamont (piano), Handri Loots (flute) and Elmarie van der Vywer (viola) in a varied selection.
