Track cycling league in Paarl
2009-11-05
THE Neotel Yorkshire Cycling Club will host a track cycling league event at the Faure Street cycling track tomorrow (6 November). The event, which will start at 19:00, will host races for all the age categories. There will also be an opportunity for beginners to try out this exciting discipline of track cycling. Beginners can make use of any kind of bicycle in these events. Over the years, track cycling was synonymous with the Paarl region, especially the well-known Boxing Day event and the valley of Paarl produced top riders. Tomorrow’s event will definitely be part of the build-up towards the festive season track cycling events in the Cape, which serves as great preparation for the top events being hosted during December. With tomorrow’s event including races like the 1500m, elimination races and points races (to mention a few), it will be good to see which local cyclists produce top performances during the December Festive Season cycling events. Gates will open at 18:00 and entrance for spectators is free. Registration for cyclists will be from 17:30. For more information, contact Ian Goetham on 083-949-4501.
