Development discussed at meeting

THE proposed development of the Salmonsvlei farm for residential purposes, will be discussed at a public meeting on Tuesday 17 November at 19:00 at the Drakenstein Dutch Reformed Church Hall (Antoinette Street), Denneburg, Paarl. The draft environmental impact assessment of the proposed urban development between Klein Parys and the N1 in Paarl, is currently on view at the Paarl public library and the Paarl golf course. The farm will be developed for 773 housing units including single residential homes, group housing, townhouses, flats and a retirement village. There will also be a business node. The comment period ends on 11 December. * Comments on the proposed construction of a block of 270 flats in Lustigan Road (the Neffensaan project) in the same area, are currently invited. The basic impact assessment study can be viewed at the Paarl Library or on www.phsconsulting.co.za. * Another housing development is proposed on the Swaelstert Road between Smartietown and Nederburg (Paarl East). The Dalsig Village development of 100 medium cost housing units will be located on portions of farm 527. The basic assessment report is on view at Paarl library or at the municipal planning department until 8 December. * The farm Azalea Acres just south of the N1 (formerly a nursery opposite Boschenmeer) is also in the pipeline for a security development of 60 erven by Atterbury.
