Dangerous taxi driver should be prosecuted
2009-11-19
ON Friday 13 November, on my way to work, it was raining and obviously the roads were very wet. I was driving in Jan van Riebeeck Drive, opposite Filmatic, when I was pushed into oncoming traffic by a taxi. I pressed on my hooter, but he just kept right on driving. At the robot, near Spilo, I wrote down his registration and taxi numbers “CJ 63592 - Groenheuwel 961”, when the driver and one of his passengers got out, walked over to my car and started to swear at me. He was right in front wanting to push into the line of cars heading toward Wellington. When they refused to let him in, he had to turn up towards Allandale and turn left at that robot. He was the most dangerous driver I have yet seen. On the back of his vehicle is printed “Parental Advisory” or something to that effect. I would never allow any of my children to ride in that taxi - ever! The driver is an absolute maniac behind the wheel and his licence should be revoked! As per usual, there were no traffic officials around at that time of the morning, as they all do duty at various other points, with it being rush hour traffic. I cannot help but think that if public transport drivers are allowed to drive the public around in this manner, what disaster lies in store for us in 2010 when we have visitors by the thousands from overseas.
