Top restaurants in Franschhoek

AT the prestigious 2009 Prudential Eat Out Restaurant Awards held in Cape Town on 22 November, two local restaurants were on the list of the Top Ten restaurants in South Africa. The Restaurant at Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, achieved 6th place, while Le Quartier Francais’s The Tasting Room was 10th. Visitors to Franschhoek will have the opportunity to sample some of the delicacies from chefs Jacques de Jager of Grande Provence and Margot Janse of Le Quartier Francais at the ‘Magic of Bubbles’ Cap Classique and Champagne Festival that takes place at the Huguenot Monument from 4 to 6 December.
