THE production It takes 2, featuring Rocco de Villiers (piano), Robert Mitchley (guitar) and Mark Hoeben and Ina Wichterich (dancers) can be seen at the Oude Libertas Theatre on 17 December at 20:15. If you Google It takes 2, you get to a British TV show, a dating site, a company selling scrapbooking supplies and of course, the all time hit by Marvin Gaye with the same title. So, this is nothing new. But put the title to a show with music by De Villiers, a pianist suffering from “menopause light”, a late developer and a Free State farmer with a love for champagne and baked puddings…well, then you get a musical journey from Bothaville to Buenos Aires, Bossa Nova to Blues and back. And a quick visit to Broadway in between. Add two tango dancers and the title makes sense! De Villiers and Mitchley bring you an acoustic collection featuring new music, old music, original music and beautiful music.
