LOCAL Cape jazz king, Robbie Jansen, is set to treat the crowds to a full two hours of his sultry sax tunes and fiery flute at Saturday’s Rural Cape Music Sunset Supper Concert at Solms-Delta.
Jansen thrilled the crowds at the 2009 Franschhoek Oesfees and at last year’s summer concerts and is set to do the same again this weekend.
His interpretation of Cape jazz with a fusion of musical influences ranging from traditional Cape Malay, Goema, African rhythms and funk, resonates with the musical heritage of the Cape.
The Saturday supper concerts start at 18:00 and run until 27 February with a feast of local Afro and Cape jazz and gospel flavours.
Entry of R150 (R65 for kids) includes a ‘Kaapse kos’ buffet catering for all tastes.
