Murderer on the loose

THE police in Franschhoek are still searching for the murderer of a 25-year-old woman who died just after Christmas. Friends of Flora Nkopane made the grizzly discovery on the morning of Boxing Day, when their friend had not arrived to go to church with them. When she did not open her front door, they forced entry into her informal home in the Mooiwater settlement of Franschhoek and discovered her body on her bed. Nkopane had allegedly first been raped and then strangled to death. Her assailant had gained access to her home through a window. Nkopane was a popular young woman who worked at Pick n Pay in Franschhoek. She was originally from De Aar in the Northern Cape.
