AS a resident of Paarl, I am very disappointed with the Municipality for taking down three neighbourhood watch signs in the area of Hout, Orange and Mill Streets after a terrifying spate of crime rocked the area last year. These signs were professionally erected and placed in areas where by no means traffic signs or drivers’ vision was obscured.
I am aware that bureaucracy states that permission must first be granted by the Municipality for signs to be erected, but would have thought that this red tape would not need to be crossed for the benefit of the community’s safety and security.
