THE ever-popular annual Harvest Festival at the Grande Provence Wine Estate in Franschhoek will once again take place on Saturday 13 March from 09:00.
The day, which promises a great deal of laughter, commences with coffee and muffins. This is followed by a tour of the vineyards where visitors help harvest the grapes accompanied by award-winning winemaker, Jaco Marais.
He will then take you on a tour of The Winery to explain the harvesting process, followed by a sumptuous lunch to be served under the oak trees. Entertainment continues the celebrations and is followed by a game of boules afterwards. The cost for the day is R290 (R130 for children under 12) and included in the price is a bottle of Angels Tears wine per adult. Guests are advised to bring a hat, protective sunscreen and a change of clothing for those planning to take part in the actual grape stomping. For reservations, contact Nicole Bisschoff on 021-876-8600.
